A walk to the abandoned fishing village of Måstad on Værøy's south-west coast.
Måstad is a former fishing community on a remote stretch of Værøy's coast, now abandoned. The route is steep in places and exposed to weather, but the setting under the bird cliffs is memorable. Respect the old buildings and nesting birds.
Keep to marked routes and do not disturb the nesting birds.
Check weather and conditions on the day, bring proper footwear and layers, and turn back if in doubt.
Avalanche danger applies from autumn to late spring. Check the warning on varsom.no before any winter or spring trip, and check the weather forecast on the day.
